NEET-UG 2025 – Overview
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) – exam conducted held on 04th May 2025 in 552 cities across the country through the National Examination Agency. There are 118190 MBBS seats in 780 medical colleges across the state as on 31st March 2025.
There are 950 colleges of AYUSH which include BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS. About 210774 seats are operational including 27868 seats of 329 dental colleges of Dental BDS. Admissions will be done in these in the session 2025-26 on the basis of the result of NEET 2025 exam.
As per the media reports, around 20.8 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET-UG exam, and 22.8 lakh candidates have registered for the NEET-UG exam, which is slightly lesser than the last year (2024).

Process for MBBS Direct Admission in Telangana
If you have completed 10+2 with Biology and aiming to be a doctor and seeking to get a MBBS seat into some Medical Colleges in Telangana State, you need to meet the required criteria for MBBS Admission prescribed by the National Medical Commission of India and the Medical University of Telangana.
Like:
- You must passed 12th Std. or 10+2 or Intermediate from any recognized board with minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
- You must have pass separately in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in 12th Std.
- You must complete 17 years on 31st December of the admission year and should be physically fit.
In addition to the above eligibility criteria, you must have appeared and qualified mandatory entrance exam (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) India, which is around 130-150 out of 720. For 2025 Batch, it is 144 for General Category and 113 for Reserved Category.
After Qualifying NEET-UG entrance exam, you have to follow few more steps to get MBBS Direct Admission in Telangana under Management Quota or NRI Quota.
A. Register for the Counselling
Register yourself for the Telangana State Counselling conducted by the competent authority Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS).
The Registration and Processing fee Rs.3,500/- + Transaction Charges for OC & BC candidates and Rs.2,900/- + Transaction Charges for SC/ST candidates shall be paid online through Debit card / Credit card or Net Banking.
B. Document Verification
After successful registration process, the authority will invite you for the document verification process, in this process you have to upload your original certificates.

- SSC or equivalent examination containing the Date of Birth
- Intermediate or Equivalent examination Marks Card.
- Transfer Certificate (T.C.)
- Study Certificate(s) from 9th class to Intermediate.
- Permanent Caste Certificate (Integrated Community Certificate) claiming reservation under BC/SC/ST Categories issued by competent authority.
- Aadhar Card
- Minority certificates issued by the concerned Department (if applicable).
- Candidates who have not studied in the any Educational Institutions have to submit residence certificate of the candidate for 4 years period immediately preceding the qualifying examination (dates of period to be specified).
- Candidates claiming fee exemption shall produce the latest Income certificate of the Parent issued by MRO / Tahsildar.
- Candidates claiming eligibility of reservation under Special categories i.e., CAP, PMC and Anglo Indian should furnish the required certificate in support of their claim.
- EWS Certificate issued with validity claiming reservation under EWS Categories issued by Competent Authority (Tahasildar) of State of Telangana.
- NCC Certificates obtained before qualifying examination for award of grace marks.
C. Choice Filling and Allotment
After successful document verification process by the competent authority (KNRUHS), you will be invited to enter your choices. In this process you can select medical colleges as much as you can based on your interest and lock your choices.
After last date of choice fillings, competent authority (KNRUHS) will announce the allotment results, based on your NEET-UG score and choices which are you have submitted while choice filling.
If you get allotment into any medical college which you have filled and locked the choices, now you have to report to the allotted medical college with all necessary documents at stipulated time.
Note: This Choice Filling and Allotment process will be conducted in 4 rounds followed by MOP-UP and Stray Vacancy, and Special Stray Vacancy Round (if seats are vacant).
How to get MBBS Direct Admission in Telangana under Management Quota?
If you are willing to get MBBS Direct Admission in Telangana under Management Quota, you must have clear or scored more than the qualifying marks in the NEET-UG entrance exam in the respective categories.
In Telangana State, all Private Medical Colleges have three (03) categories seats like Category-A, Category-B and Category-C.
Category-A seats are Govt. seats where fee is minimum, Category-B seats are also called Management Quota seats where fee is quite higher than the Category-B fee, and Category-C seats are basically NRI seats where fee is 2x (twice) of the Category-B fee.
