About MBBS

MBBS is an undergraduate degree awarded upon graduation from Medico school of medicine and surgery by universities in various countries. In India, the Medico institute accredited by MCI can provide the degree for MBBS.

The duration of the MBBS course is 5½ years (4½ years of classroom study followed by a year of rotating internship). Students have to study for 4 ½ academic years. These 4 ½ years are divided into 9 semesters, followed by a one-year compulsory rotating internship.

The period of 4 1/2 years is divided into three phases as follows:-

Phase-1 (12 months/2 semesters) includes Pre-clinical subjects such as Human Anatomy, Physiology including Bio-Physics, Biochemistry, and introduction to Community Medicine including Humanities are taught.

Phase-II (18 months/3 semesters) includes Para-clinical and clinical subjects namely Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine including Toxicology, and part of Community Medicine are taught.

Phase-III (24 months/4 semesters) includes Medicine and its allied specialties, Surgery and its allied specialties, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology, Community medicine is taught.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State /Central Government.
• The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)
• Candidates must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained at least 50% of marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC/ST/OBC).
• Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admittance.

• Certified copy of qualifying examination for MBBS.

Entrance Procedure in Mahatma Gandhi Missions

M.G.M Medico institute has basically offered education in two hierarchy UG courses

• The application procedure is completed in both on the online and offline mode.
• For B.Sc. and MBBS courses, candidates have to pass 10+2 in PCB or relevant examination from any recognised board.
• Admittance to B.Sc is done based on the rank scored in M.G.M UG CET, while choice in MBBS depends on NEET UG 18.
• For M.Sc. Medico Sciences, a B.Sc. degree in applicable subjects/B.Sc. Nursing/MBBS/BDS or an identical degree from any recognised institute /board is essential.
• Candidates for PG Diploma, MD and MS require an MBBS degree from any recognised Medico institute.
• Admittance to PG Diploma, MD and MS courses depends on the score in NEET PG 18.
• For DM and M.CH super-forte courses, an MD or MS degree in related subjects is required to apply for affirmation.
• Admittance to the super-speciality courses is done based on NEET SS 18.
• D. affirmation requires a post-graduate degree with least 55% checks in the same discipline.
• Admittance to Ph.D. is done through capability in the Ph.D. placement test directed the institute is compulsory to guarantee confirmation in the course.
