MBBS Direct Admission in Mumbai Procedure

In order to get MBBS Direct Admission in Mumbai or Direct MBBS Admission in Maharashtra Medical Colleges, you need to meet the prerequisite eligibility criteria defined by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.

Here are those criteria:

  • You should have passed 12th Std. or 10+2 or Intermediate from any recognized board with minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
  • You should have pass separately in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in 12th Std.
  • You should complete 17 years on 31st December of the admission year.

Apart from the above criteria, you must have appear NEET-UG exam conducting by NTA (National Testing Agency) India and must score qualifying score that is around 150-170 out of 720.

Step 1. Qualify NEET-UG Entrance Exam

You have to appear and must qualify madatory NEET-UG Entrance Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Though the qualifying score is not same every, and it would be around 150-170 out of 720.

Step 2. Counselling Registration

After Qualifying NEET-UG Entrance Exam, you have to register yourself for Maharashtra State Counselling through CET Cell and/or All India Deemed Medical Counselling through Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Step 3. Document Verification

Once you have successfully done the registration process and uploaded the required documents, your documents will be verified by the respective authorities. This document verification process may be online or offline.

Step 4. Round I Counselling

Once your documents verified by the respective authority, you will be invited to fill your choices. In this process you can select medical colleges as much as you can based on your interest and lock you choices.

The respective authorities will announce the results, based on your NEET-UG score and choices which are you have submited while choice filling.

If you get allotment into any medical college which you have filled and locked the choices. Congratulations 👏 👏, you got MBBS Admission and now you have to report to the allotted medical college with all necessary documents at stipulated time.

Step 5. Round II Counselling

Unfortunately, if you didn’t get allotment to any medical college, in this round you can repeat the same process which you have done in Round I Counselling.

In this round, you can edit your choices by adding some colleges or removing some colleges or changing in the priority order of the colleges, then lock the choices, and wait 🤞 🤞 for the results.

In case, you get allotment into any Medical college, then you have to report to the allotted medical college with all necessary documents at stipulated time.

Step 6. MOP-UP Round Counselling

In case, you didn’t get any allotment to any medical college in the main counselling rounds (R-I & R-II), same process you need to repeat in the MOP-UP Round. This round is conducted based on the left over seats after two rounds of the counselling.

Earlier MOP-UP round was conducted on offline mode, but now it is conducting online like the two main counselling rounds.

After all rounds, if there would be some left over seats or cancelled seats then the respective counselling authorities conducting two special round i.e. Stray Vacancy Round and Special Stray Vacancy Round.
